National Pecan Day

April 14, 2017

National Pecan Day

The word Pecan means a nut requiring a stone to crack. Pecan’s are an excellent source of copper, iron, magnesium, zinc and vitamin E.  Pecans can help reduce LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol levels in the blood. They are also rich in dietary fibre.

We baked these Banana, Pecan & Butterscotch Buns up with our Premium White Bread Mix.  This is an absolutely delicious recipe  – really good for Bonfire Night parties and you can always substitute the butterscotch sauce for a caramel to ring the changes!

This superb Sweet Potato, Coconut & Pecan Cake is made with our Carrot Cake Mix and will really help celebrate National Pecan Day!

Ever had a go at making Monkey Bread?  Monkey bread is an irresistible sweet,  gooey treat consisting of soft bread dunked into a cinnamon sugar before baking.  This has Pecan’s chopped inside and sprinkled on top!
