St. George’s Day

April 23, 2017

St. George’s Day

We all turn to red and white this day, promoting the flag and celebrating the patron saint of England.  It is a lovely time of the year, there is not a more “British” month.  With St. George’s Day, the birth date of William Shakespeare and HM The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations. Be as British as you like using fillings like English Cheddar & Pickle, Pork and Apple or Beef and Mustard.

We love these Dragon’s Feet rolls, not just as a natty idea for St. George’s Day but because they are so delicious.  These savoury rolls are made with our Sunflower bread mix and sage & onion stuffing – don’t knock it until you have tried it!   Do get the family involved in snipping the “toes” of the dough – they always bake up with a knobbly look because of the sunflower seeds and the stuffing mix within!

Best wishes for St. George’s Day – Deb the Bread
