Per case of 5 x 500g
Our Scone Mix makes classic teatime scones, the crumbliest treat that you can enjoy plain, as a sweet and fruity combination or as a savoury alternative baked with cheese. All you need is 500g of scone mix, 205ml water and milk or beaten egg to glaze. Heat the oven to 220°C, (430°F) or gas mark 7. Pour the scone mix into a bowl and add the water. Using a wooden spoon, mix together to form a dough - work the Scone mix fairly quickly, do not over mix it as it may toughen the dough. Using some dusting flour as required, roll out your dough to approximately 2.5cm thickness. Cut out 12 scones using a 6cm cutter and place on a baking tray. Brush the top of the scones with milk or beaten egg and pop them into your pre-heated oven for 10 - 12 minutes until they are golden brown. Finally - the best bit - time to eat them! For fruit scones simply add 150g of raisins or sultanas and for cheese scones add 235g of grated cheese to the mix and leave 50g to sprinkle on the tops before baking.

“Haven’t made scones for ages as they’re always a bit hit ‘n miss. My sister and I always meet up in a lovely little café for a coffee and one of their delicious date and walnut scones, I will try to make my own version now the “Wright Stuff” is available!”
