Ingredients
- Mixed Grain Bread Mix 5 x 500g
- Wright's Mixed Grain Bread Mix 500g
- Sugar 2 Tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil 2 Tablespoons
- Chopped Mixed Nuts 2 Tablespoons
- Sultanas 5 Tablespoons
- Warm Water 260ml
- Eggs (beaten) 1 medium.
METHOD – (Makes 1)
Place the bread mix, sugar, oil and water into a bowl and mix to a dough by hand or using a food mixer.
Knead for 5 minutes.
Rest for 5 minutes.
Add nuts and sultanas and mix into the dough.
Divide into 6 even pieces and mould into a ball.
Rest for 5 minutes
Mould each piece into a 20cm string and then plait 3 together to give 2 x 3 piece plaits.
Place on greased baking trays, wash with beaten egg and cover with a damp tea towel; lightly oiled plastic or polythene and in warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
Wash again when proved prior to baking in a preheated oven at 220°C (440°F Gas Mark 7) on lower shelf for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
When baked, remove from tin and put on a wire tray to cool.
