Baked By You at Home

One of our biggest fans is Till so I have to kick off with a fabulous Focaccia that he created earlier on in the month. This was a nice cheesy bake that I am reliably informed was throughly enjoyed!

Janet created a Carrot & Rhubarb cake – here it is with a few rhubarb slices artistically placed on the top of our Carrot cake from the mix – Janet cheerfully reported that “The kettle is on, ready to slice into the cake to enjoy with a cuppa”.  Thanks Janet – it looks delicious!

Well done Gemma – nice creation using our Chocolate Fudge mix & winning the Best Appearance in a cake prize. You must be delighted – as happy as a pig in mud I guess!

Karen has made this awesome Orange cake for a young lady who said “yes”!  Congratulations to the recently engaged couple.  This is a 12” cake – created with 4.5 x 500g packets (2.5kg) of our Orange cake mix and infused with a lemon butter cream and lemon curd through the middle. Obviously, the cupcakes on the top resemble the engagement ring itself. It is just beautiful Karen thanks so much for sharing this with us.

I call these cakes ‘Deadly decadent by Deb’!  Cakes made with our Madeira & Chocolate Fudge mixes creamed in the middle & on the top – served with strawberries and a strawberry sauce or as they are so posh should I call it a jus?  These were created as a special treat for Father’s Day – thanks for sharing these.

In last months news, we gave a great Father’s Day recipe of Dad’s Danish made using our Ciabatta mix – Richard created these with apricots and a smearing of apricot jam – absolutely delicious with peaches too!

We have a nice new recipe idea for use with our awesome Orange Cake Mix!  It’s an Eton Mess Cake and a great cake to ring the changes with. By either changing the fruit from strawberries, changing the confectionery used on top or changing the mix itself to one of our other clever cake mixes!

If you are too busy to take on too much baking due to Wimbledon – I will just leave you with this simple Ginger cake – baked in a heart shaped tin by Kathryn. Tiggle your tastebuds with this during the tennis!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful bakes with us – Deb the Bread
