BAKING FOR BONFIRE NIGHT

October 25, 2022

BAKING FOR BONFIRE NIGHT

Why not create some quick cupcakes with any of OUR CAKE MIXES and decorate them with coloured butter cream and chocolate flakes! Like in the featured image here.

I am remembering good Guy Fawkes night’s past with popular PARKIN CAKE created from our warming GINGER CAKE MIX and oatflakes. Decorated with a sparkler in each corner it is a fine Firework night fancy and seasonally served at this time.

The first Parkin Cake is in of the season – again made with our Ginger cake mix – perfect timing. Thanks Lisa.

By far the easiest fare with a wow factor to rival the biggest firework is our recipe for SPARKLER SAUSAGES, created with our PREMIUM WHITE BREAD MIX and frankfurters or sausages.

Many of you have enjoyed making these wrapped sausages. Every year I make them for 5th November & you cannot fail with these as they are perfect for little hands, not messy like a sticky sausage from the grill and if sufficiently cooled, provide unsupervised scoffing for the children!

Peter wrapped his sausages in our Ciabatta bread mix – they puffed up perfectly and all joined together.

Paula made hers with our Premium White bread mix.

Rob created his Sparkler Sausages with our Cheddar Cheese & Onion mix – must have been a bonfire party going on with that lot!

Till formed his Sparkler Sausages using bratwurst with our Cheddar & Sundried Tomato bread mix & red pesto – they have baked up beautifully!

I was pleased to see that we had inspired Sharon sufficiently enough to have a go at our Mummie Dogs. Sausages with strips of Premium White bread mix dough wound around them, proved and baked with their peppercorn eyes. So popular when served at Bonfire Night!

John used our Chocolate Fudge mix as a base for his Bonfire Cupcakes. They look great with the two tone butter cream and a few crystallised cranberries to add to the fire effect. Topped with Matchmakers chocolates.

Sammie made these beautiful Bonfire Night Cupcakes with our mixes and Matchmakers. They are a base of our Chocolate Fudge & Orange Cake Mixes, marvellously marbled and topped with buttercream peaks & orange matchmakers!

Kim’s Bonfire Night cupcakes have stacked up well too with a lovely lot of Chocolate Flakes on them to resemble firewood or kindling.

Our new recipe for this Chilli & Cheese Focaccia will certainly light up your tastebuds on Bonfire Night! Made with our lovely & light Ciabatta mix, peppers, sun dried tomatoes + chilli & cheese on top – it is very Mediterranean and also very moreish!

Clever Chocolate Fudge cupcakes have been made and decorated with matchmakers & sprinkles for Bonfire Night celebrations – thanks for sharing these with us on Instagram @hka_create

These are just few ideas here to help your evening go with a bang! Do enjoy a nice slice of Gingery Parkin Cake to keep out the cold & above all, stay safe!
