Family-friendly baking for the summer holidays

With the school holidays underway, those long days at home with the kids return. We all cross our fingers for warm, sunny weather so they can run around the garden or enjoy a day out. But, as many of us know, British summers often come with their fair share of rain.

For those drizzly afternoons or slow mornings indoors, baking can be a great way to pass the time. Needing minimal ingredients, our bread and cake mixes are easy to use and perfect for getting little hands involved. You’ll find them at most local supermarkets and with just a few simple additions to the mixes, you can whip up something tasty without much fuss.

Pizza

Instead of saving cooking for dessert or snacks, dinner can be just as fun to make together. Try a family pizza night and let the kids choose their own shapes and toppings. You could even turn it into a friendly competition, who made the best pizza? It’s a relaxed way to get everyone involved and add a bit of fun to mealtime.

All of our bread mixes can create three medium sized pizzas. We love using the Premium White, Cheddar and Sundried Tomato, and Cheddar and Onion.
