The Perfect Serve for Wimbledon!

The perfect serve for Wimbledon – a serving of homemade Pimm’s Cupcakes – thanks Janet! Simply add to our Madeira cake mix the zest of 1 lemon and 1 lime, 50ml Pimm’s, 150ml of water and 60ml of vegetable oil. Janet’s topping was made with 50g unsalted butter, softened, 400g icing sugar with 2 tbsp. Pimm’s and 1 tbsp. milk – the strawberry’s on top are compulsory – well, it’s Wimbledon fortnight!
Oh hello – well spotted by a Wright’s fan at Wimbledon – our Plain Flour making an appearance at the Pizza Stand there! Nice to see SW19 are keeping their standards up – apart from the fact that someone’s takeaway Pimm’s got in the way but that’s Wimbledon for you!
These Rum Truffles made with our Chocolate Fudge cake mix, yield around 30 good sized goodies for sharing around the TV and perfect for pushing your heart back into your mouth during the battles on Centre Court!
Scones, a crumbly creation are best served warm, fresh from your oven they are also good re-warmed in a microwave for 10 seconds perfect for a snack when there is a change of ends. Served sometimes sweet with raisins, currants, dates or cherries. They can be enjoyed as a savoury alternative baked with grated cheese or just perfectly plain with butter, jam &/or cream.

Can I thank Baker Mike for a twist on our classic Madeira with strawberries & cream cake to celebrate the start of Wimbledon? Mike used our Madeira and decorated his cake with real strawberries, cream and a dusting of icing sugar – delish & certainly something to tiggle your tastebuds during the tennis!
