Baked by you at home.

February 8, 2021

Baked by you at home.

Oh, we love this cake! It was for Batu who has worked for us for many years now and for his birthday, he was been given this great cake depicting a few of our catering flours; Alto, Bravo & Bounty, his hi vis jacket, ear defenders and safety boots!  Thanks to @marbleous_cakes on Instagram in Enfield for this one!

Let’s have a look at Len’s lovely wholemeal loaf – made from our Wholemeal bread mix and baked beautifully in his Morphy Richards machine.  We find the wholemeal programmes a little too long with our mix and always stick to a 3 hour programme for ALL our mixes in a Morphy Richard’s bread making machine.

Janina forgot that she had a pack of our Orange cake mix during lockdown. So, she used half of it for mini cupcakes, topped with a Swiss vanilla buttercream – don’t they look amazing?  With our Orange cake mix, currently buy one, get one free on May dated stock, it’s amazing value too!

Paulette has created a pizza using our Cheese & Onion bread mix as a base.  It was cooked for 15 minutes covered in foil on180 & then for a further 15 mins on 200 uncovered, to brown the top – nice toppings too!

I had a message from Deborah, confirming the ease & convenience of our Madeira cake mix, which is one thing, but to learn that her 5 year old assisted in the preparation & baking of this perfect Pineapple Cake is quite another thing!  How lovely of you to share this – thanks so much!

Paulette made Rock Cakes with our Scone Mix.  They look lovely, mixed with 205ml of water & 155g of raisins, baked on 200°C for 15 minutes.  I particularly liked the heart shaped rock cake – which Paulette served to her husband!

So, if a 5 year old can assist in the creation of a pineapple cake with our Madeira mix – how about Lacey’s lovely Pineapple Upside Down cake!  Lacey is 8 and this was a real treat at the weekend for Mummy, Daddy, Evie and herself – well done Lacey – it just looks lovely!

Lacey also made a pizza for Saturday night dinner with our Cheddar & Sundried Tomato mix as a base – well done again, Lacey it looks absolutely awesome.

Chris made up our “Orange Cake with Lavender Honey spiralled on top. Not only does it look good, it tastes good too! So easy to make!”  Thanks Chris it looks delicious.

Twisted breads from Hannah who said, “these were so good. I added chicken, bacon and mozzarella to the Premium White bread mix (with a bit of green pesto on a third) and in the Cheddar and Sundried Tomato mix I added spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled peppers, bacon, chicken and mozzarella. 20 mins cooking at 210 (fan) and a delicious tea enjoyed by all the family. I’m loving cooking different meals at the moment”.  You can bake for me anytime Hannah – Thank you!

Another terrific loaf from Toni – our Cheese & Onion mix was “baked in the Panasonic bread making machine on the 1 hour 55 minute setting which never fails”. Thanks Toni.

Edith has used a pack of our Scone mix to create these Fat Rascals.  Betty’s Tearooms of Harrogate & York invented these plump, fruity scones with a cheeky cherry and almond face. Made to their Fat Rascal recipe, Edith did not have almonds but used mixed dried fruit & cut pecans – the beauty of home baking is to ring the changes surely. Here they are – just out the oven with Alan the chief taster!

I have a feeling you will make this again, Ken! Thanks for sharing your Cheddar & Sundried Tomato mix – made in your Panasonic bread making machine.

Steph’s Orange Cake looks awesome – thanks for sharing this as we can see the orange fruit pieces in the cut section. Steph finished this with a tangy orange glaze and slices of dried oranges, saying it was “fluffy, sweet, soft and tart at the same time”.

I love so many of your ideas for use with our bread and cake mixes. Thanks to Margaret for bearing with me, banging on over Christmas & the New Year about Instant Fruit Cakes. Margaret did similar with our Malty bread mix, creating this fabulously fruity loaf!

Ruth created a gorgeous Ginger and Orange cake at the end of last month. With it being so cold & with so much snow about, our Ginger cake mix is a real winter warmer. Thanks so much Ruth.

I see our Premium White is performing perfectly in Christina & Edward’s house.  Believe it or not, they are beginners at bread making! Having purchased their Panasonic they popped the Premium White in the bread machine pan, added 320ml of water & selected a 1 hour 55 minute programme – the results – amazing!

Delicious – especially if you folk like an Amaretto & coke – this was made by Diana for her son with our Chocolate Fudge cake mix. Diana said it was “delicious”.  You amaze me with what you do with our cake mixes.  Thanks for sharing Diana.  Hope the celebrations went well – it was lovely to see a thoughtfully baked birthday cake during lockdown.
