Mother’s Day Sunday

Mother’s Day is the perfect time to spoil mum with some delightful treats.  You have a few days to practice making a great cake – and of course – eating it prior to the day!  Try this superb classic, Coffee & Walnut Cake made with our Madeira cake mix – available in larger Sainsbury’s and Wright’s popular mail order service.  Time with Mum over a great, home made cake shows how much you love and care so give special attention to presentation, a vase of flowers and offer an outing for your best china.

Whatever you do for Mum this year – nothing spells out love more than something you have spent time preparing in your kitchen.  Try one of our cake mixes to fool everyone – we have spent years perfecting the ingredients and you simply save time in achieving a delicious cake to spoil your very special guests this Mother’s Day.

Preparing for Mother’s Day can be fun too!

Sometimes just a cupcake or two will do!

You could of course thrill Mum with this clever Coconut & Lime Drizzle Cake made with our Madeira mix!

How about this delicious dessert idea using our Chocolate Fudge cake mix to create a Raspberry Chocolate Crumble?

Running late to create a special treat for mum on Mother’s Day?  Then this one is for you – Fruits of the Forest Squares made with our Madeira cake mix and Fruits of the Forest mixture – fresh or frozen.

Mum might just like to keep it simple this year with a classic Devon Split – made with our lovely, light Classic Ciabatta Mix.  Filled with jam &/or cream. Fabulously fresh and served with a coffee & a chat is everything mum needs to really make her day.

Does mum enjoy a tipple?  You can’t go wrong with Wright’s and these Pina Colada Cuptails are spot on!  Cuptails are cupcakes containing alcohol – these are made with our Madeira mix, pineapple, coconut and rum!

If mum always seems to be on a diet then create some stunning Cake Pops for Mother’s Day this year – she will not go far off track with one of two of these treats especially when she knows you have made them with love – and Wright’s!

You might be looking to create a special kind of cake for mum this year with a wonderful combination of flavours that looks beautiful too – if so – this one’s for you!  Spiced Fig, Coffee & Hazelnut Cake – made with our Carrot cake mix.

For busy mum’s – how about these Cinnabuns made with our Premium White Bread Mix!  Whilst the buns are baking, blend together cream cheese and sieved icing sugar until smooth and flavour with Vanilla Essence. Use this to top and melt over each Cinnabun immediately they are removed from the oven – a real treat for mum & everyone!

One final idea is our very popular Rum Truffles – a great gift to give or receive.  Created with our very clever Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix.  These can be made on Mother’s Day morning or the night before – just in case the florist let’s you down – our products never will.

Have a look at this effortless Chocolate Sensation Cake. Our version was made in a bread making machine with our Chocolate Fudge cake mix and covered with marzipan or fondant icing, pick up a box of chocolates on the way home and decorate and don’t pick all the best ones for yourself! We used the ribbon off the chocolate box to finish the cake. This all took under 2 hours. Just 1 hour’s baking in the bread machine, whilst we ran to the shops for fondant and chocolates. Rolled the fondant in readiness and left it under damp kitchen towel whilst the cake was cooling!

Brownies – best made with our Chocolate Fudge cake mix & best served with a coffee – a sweet treat for mum.

Our clever Carrot cake mix has been made into a delicious Carrot & Orange cake here.  This a lovely cake to enjoy with an orange juice.  Try two teaspoons of Cointreau to the butter & cream cheese topping for a special Mother’s Day treat.

I hope I have found a special recipe for you and your very special mum to enjoy together this Mother’s Day.
